Pakistan shares its borders with 4 neighboring countries – China, Afghanistan, India, and Iran while Tajikistan is separated by the thin Wakhan Corridor– adding up to about 7,307 km (4,540.4 mi) in length (excluding the coastal areas).

Tajikistan shares borders with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and China.

Therefore, the Pakistan-China-Tajikistan border crossing became a popular choice.

Itinerary

Day 1 (Pakistan) – Kunjerab Pass – Tashkurgan County(China), 125km, 2 hours
Pakistan’s immigration office in Soest opens at 9 am, then you can start the exit process, so we recommend that you arrive in Soest one day in advance.

You will arrive Khunjerab Pass around lunch time, Immigration officer will check your car. mmigration officer accompany you to Tashkurgan County. Your guide will wait for you in Tashkurgan County.

Important: Can’t camping outside or sleeping in the car tonight. You need to park the car in the customs warehouse (parking lot).

Overnight: Tashkurgan Yingbinguan Hotel

Day 2 Tashkurgan County
Complete customs clearance and drive the car out of the customs parking lot in the afternoon. Customs clearance will most likely take a day.

Day 3 Tashkurgan – Kala Kule Lake – Karasu Port – Kulma(Qolma) Pass – Tajikistan, 290km, 4 hours driving
Leave Tashkurgan County, driving on the Chinese section of KKH (Karakoram Highway), the road condition is very good. In order to develop the local tourism industry, the government has invested a lot of money in infrastructure.

On the way, we will pass through villages and valleys, and have a stop at Kala Kule Lake for a short visit, where we could overlook Muztagh Peak.

After Kala Kule Lake, we drive back and soon reach Karasu Port, complete all customs and border inspection procedures at the Karasu Passenger Inspection Building, leave the port building, and heading Qolma (Kulma) Pass.
