Leave Laos in the early morning, customs clearance in Laos may require queuing. Enter China from Mohan port, finish all the customs paper at border.

Heading to Mengla traffic police station after lunch (40mins driving)

Get your temporary driving licence and temporary number plate.

Day 2 Mengla – Jinghong (160km)

Visit opportunity: Jinghong nightsmarkt, Dai Homeland, Wild Elephant Valley, Manting Park, Big Buddha Temple.

Day 3 Jinghong – Lincang (410km)

Visit opportunity: Jinghong Golden Pagoda

Day 4 Lincang – Dali (290km, altitude: 1900m)

Visit opportunity: Dali ancient city, Erhai Lake, Mountain Cang

You could rent bicycle and circle Erhai Lake.

Day 5 Dali – Lijiang (190km, altitude: 2200m)

Day 10 Xiangcheng – Litang (210km, altitude:2900m, 4hours driving)

Visit Opportunity: Litang Cole monastery, the birthplace of 7^th Dalai Lama. you may have chance to visit sky burial.
