Detailed 6-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary Along G213 and G317

Day 1: Chengdu – Mao County (190 km)

Begin your ride from the “Land of Abundance” along the world-class scenic route G213. Experience the marvel of ancient irrigation works, enjoy the sea of blooming flowers, and witness the surging cloud formations. Cross the treacherous Longmen Mountains, pass through the largest Qiang ethnic county in China, and admire the unique architecture while immersing yourself in the rich Qiang culture and customs.

Day 2: Mao County – Ruoergai (300 km)

The landscape of Flower Lake, Snake Stream, grasslands, and forests unfolds like a painting. Ride across the vast, boundless grasslands and through the endless stretches of pristine forest. Today, you’ll see the seamless blend of modern asphalt roads with the lush, expansive grasslands. Ruoergai, an oasis on the Northwest Sichuan Plateau, is a “paradise in the clouds” woven from blue skies, green fields, cattle, sheep, and horses.

Day 3: Ruoergai – Zhagana – Hongxing (271 km)

Sometimes, the answers to life’s hidden questions can be found in Gannan. The ride today follows the Bai River, winding through deep gorges, with towering mountains and cliffs on either side, obscuring the sun. You’ll journey alongside this river in search of Yiwa, leading to the poetic stone village of Zhagana.

Day 4: Hongxing – Hongyuan (190 km)

After seeing so many barren and yellow landscapes, you’ll find this vast wilderness refreshing. Villages nestled at the foot of the mountains, distant snow-capped peaks, and herds of cattle and sheep scattered across gentle slopes under the blue sky — this is the tranquil, remote town of Hongyuan, far from the noise and disputes of the city.

Day 5: Hongyuan – Li County (227 km)

Ride along the “Scenic Avenue” G317, crossing diverse terrains and observing unique cultural landscapes. Wild animals are a common sight here. In this place, there are no towering buildings or traffic jams, no swirling dust storms — just the simple pleasures of life. In colorful Li County, life unfolds like a beautiful painting.

Day 6: Li County – Chengdu (203 km)

After experiencing the serene beauty of the plateau and soaking up the sunshine and fresh air, return to Chengdu. Treat yourself to a hearty hotpot meal, listen to the romantic tunes in a local pub, and end your journey on a perfect note.
